WORK-LIFE BALANCE

Theres a percentage of people who grind Monday till Friday, and live their best lives at the weekend. I on the other hand, am one of the people who finds themselves working hard EVERYDAY (including the sacred weekends I look forward to at the beginning of the week). Are you an entrepreneur with a side hustle? Do you have a Monday to Friday 9-5 job that feels more like a Monday to Sunday 9-9 job? If your answer is yes to either of these two questions, or you generally find that you have no time to do the things you love or time to just breathe, then you probably need to create some balance in your life!! Here are 5 things i’ve tried which seem to be working:

STEP #1

You must accept that there is a time to work and a time to play. Mentally commit to the new sense of balance that you’re about to create in your life.

STEP #2

Make room for the things you love. If you know you want to play video games three times a week create your schedule in a way that allows this to happen. If you wanna go to that spin class on Wednesday evening, then you know your work day should probably end at 5 on the dot!

STEP #3

Stick to your time-frames! The only way you can make time for the things you love is to actually finish up the things you need to do. Theres no point dragging your feet on Wednesday if you know you need to meet your evening spin class!

STEP #4

Dont be discouraged by the unavoidable tasks! The reality is that unexpected things come up, but you need to deal with them and move on.

STEP #5 

Stick to the plan! If you’re a workaholic, don't be tempted to read those work emails on Saturday afternoon. If you tend to slack, try to complete all your work at the right time!
